In October 2011, when Mario Balotelli’s mother arrived in Manchester to help him sort out his life, she sent him to John Lewis with a shopping list of essentials, containing items including an ironing board, an iron etc.
Five hours later, Mario returned empty handed, but minutes later a lorry arrived with a trampoline, Scalextric, two Vespas and a table tennis set.

I have no provenance for this story…but somehow it rings true.
