Joel Robuchon for the Win
For the third consecutive year I made it to Taste London this weekend. It’s the ultimate food festival for people who would rather eat good food than talk about it. 50-ish top London chefs come out to Regent’s Park to cook 3 small dishes for the paying public, at £3-£5 each. You can have a starter from Gordon Ramsay, main course from Jun Tanaka, and pudding from Michel Roux, and then start again, and again, and again. As usual I totally pigged out, trying little elaborate dishes from about 20 different restaurants. These foie gras hamburgers from L’Atelier du Joel Robuchon were the sensation of the day though, causing a small riot everytime a new batch made it to the pass. Rare tender beef, melting foie gras, brioche buns, and a rich sweet balsamic reduction sauce. Joel didn’t win all those Michelin stars by chance.
