If I was a researcher at Wake Forest, I would be a tad peeved about the blizzard of publicity for today’s “world first” stem cell coated donor transplant. Wake Forest have been making bladders, and a bunch of different complex organs for some time, and transplanting them. The only catch is they don’t use anything from a cadaveric donor to make the new organ. e.g this article from 2006 about their first bladder patients.
