Glad to see some shitty reviews for Outliers. The major problem for me with Gladwell (and Freakonomics, Wisdom of Crowds, Long Tail, and their ilk), is that none of their conjectures are actually verifiably true. Interesting yes, but not true. Whenever these pop-sciencey writers touch on something I actually know about, their lack of research, lack of understanding, and huge gaps in logic become apparent. John Ioannidis repeatedly makes the point that research findings that make it to publication are usually false, and that holds double for Gladwell and the factoids he picks up on.
